Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, is once again in the spotlight, this time for an amazing innovations in AI.
The online retail giant based in China has developed an AI tool that can create approximately 20,000 lines of content every second. This tool will be advantageous for merchants who must generate product information for website visitors without human intervention.
Alimama, the digital unit of the e-commerce giant, confirmed this by stating that the tool has analyzed millions of existing samples on platforms such as Taobao and Tmall. This AI tool consists of a large pool of existing content that has been combined by two e-commerce platforms and then natural language processing techniques are imbibed into this content to help create content.
Alibaba confirmed that the tools have cleared the Turing test, a test that confirms the ability of a machine to reach the same level of a human without being detected as a machine. However, there is not yet an external confirmation of this achievement.
According to Alibaba, companies such as Esprit and Dickies are already using the AI-based tool to customize the copywriting feature according to their requirements for length and tone. Over and above this tool, Alibaba also released an AI based video-editing tool that can be used by brands to generate short promotional videos on Taobao.
