3D websites have always been described as engaging and attractive to an audience. Here are some great sites that have embraced this technological milestone.
In 2011, 3D web development hit the tech world with a bang! Since then, there has been a good usage of 3D web development or 3D web design. The following are examples of good usage of 3D in web design:
1. Acko.net
Are you in search of 3D website design examples or what a 3D-based browser can bring to the web? If this is the case, then look no further than Acko.net. This website features one of the best animated headers inspired by street art and was created by a combination of CSS 3D and WebGL.
2. Compo Alle Comete
This website has won many awards because of the owner’s ability to create a 3D floating effect. Here, brilliant use of 3D on the web was created by using GSAP, WebGL and AngularJS.
3. Stripe.com
Web design using 3D is an interesting concept. Here, a simpler implementation of web design 3D was employed with primary technology, including WebGL and a low-level API to animate the icosahedron.
4. Diane Martel
Even though we have seen web text created or designed in the style of Star Wars, there seems to be nothing closer to these designs than the website owned by American choreographer and music video director Diane Martel, which uses the device for purposes of showcasing the titles of what she has done across her homepage.
5. OS Maps
Web development 3D has come a long way. OS Maps recently underwent a major update to the extent of introducing some of the most accurate mapping of 3D of the British countryside. The 3D mapping is constructed in spectacular detail by use of incredible and accurate lasers that are available on the web to the subscribers of OS Maps.
6. Earth 2050
To celebrate its 20th year of existence, Kaspersky launched one of the best interactive projects, which invited its users to discuss how they think or perceive the world to be like in the future, the challenges it will face and the opportunities it will bring. Its homepage features a rotating Earth that was created by using native WebGL, PHP.7, JS, CSS3, HTML5 and WebGL. To build the panorama, standard browser catching, bandwidth optimization, WebGL modules and some panorama editing were used.
7. Titouan Mathis
Mathis, a web developer living in France, had a very simple website that he used for purposes of linking out to his Instagram and Twitter accounts and to his employer Studio. He livened it up with some amusing splashes of animated, interactive 3D. Mathis used three spiraling patterns that appeared super stylish, and he used three dimensions, which were all created with CSS, JavaScript and HTML in addition to Vue.js.
8. Season 2 of The Magicians
The Magicians is another equally interactive map, but this time, it is for the fictional world of TV fantasy known as the Magicians. The Magicians was created by a team of programmers in the United Kingdom who employed the use of Three.js, GLSL and WebGL to come up with this brilliant and interactive map.
9. Pursuit of Sound
This is another WebGL experiment that truly epitomizes the development of 3D web development. This is an excellent showcase for Biborg, the 3D smarts of Paris, France.
10. Summer Festival
This is equally another attractive website that has excellent and eye-catching animations and 3D balloons coupled with other great features. This website captures nearly everything involved with 3D web design to the extent that it was featured among the best websites out there. If you truly want to see what 3D entails, this is the website for you.
